OSHA requires that cranes be inspected any time the configuration changes, initially or during the project, such as when adding boom sections or jibs. Although third-party inspections are not required by OSHA, it is a common requirement of the General Contractor. These inspections offer the crane owner and general contractor certain benefits.
Accident Investigation
Crane Industry Services Inc. works with either Plaintiff or Defense to establish cause(s) of crane accidents. Information is gathered from site inspections, crane inspections, evaluation of the load and lift plans, and interviewing witnesses.

NDT Testing of Components
Non Destructive Testing allows inspectors to see flaws undetectable to the naked eye, such as surface cracks in crane components, headache balls, load blocks, or wedge sockets. Welds and lattice members of lattice booms can also be inspected this way. Our inspectors are Level II Certified by Applied Technical Services to deliver Magnetic Particle Testing. Our qualification is in accordance with current SNT-TC-1A standard and all inspections and testing procedures are conducted in accordance with ASTM A275 (MT Examination of Steel Forgings), to include ASTM E1444, T9074-AS-GIB-010/271, and restrictions identified in NAVFAC P-307.
